Optical Testing

To compliment our mechanical testing, TMT also keeps a large suite of optical test equipment that can be used to monitor various test parameters during mechanical or stand-alone tests.

Our typical optical test equipment includes:

• single and multimode LED sources and power meters
• optical time domain reflectometers
• cleavers
• core-aligning fusion splicer
• visible light sources.

Of course, other equipment can be rented if needed. Since our introduction to fiber optics in the eighties, we have literally spliced together hundreds of optical circuits and have prepared the whole spectrum of optical fiber types including various wavelengths, modes, mode-field diameters, indexes, cladding types, cladding diameters, buffers, and packaging schemes. We have also had experience with optics-based strain, temperature, and position measuring equipment.
